Natural Cure for a Yeast Infection
At one time or another in every woman's life they find themselves suffering from a yeast infection, which is caused by an overgrowth of Candia Albicans. Yes, yeast is found in your body naturally and it is kept in check by the acidity level in your body. If this acidity level drops this is when you are susceptible to having an overgrowth of this fungus resulting in a yeast infection.
One of the best home remedies for a yeast infection is yogurt or curds as in cottage cheese. What you need to do when you find yourself with a yeast infection is to let a tampon soak for a few minutes in either yogurt or curds and put it in your vagina for at least sixty minutes or longer. What this does is that the good bacteria in yogurt or curds will start to replace the unhealthy bacteria. You should make sure that you do this at least two times a day.
Another home remedy is to mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, organic is preferable, with a quart of clean water and use it as a douche or put a half cup of this in your bath water. This type of vinegar will help to reduce the degree of acidity level in your body and help to restore it back in balance with the right acidity level.
When you are cooking you can also use fresh garlic, but not the powdered kind. Fresh garlic will act like as an anti-fungal in your body and will kill the yeast. You can also make a homemade suppository by taking gauze and wrapping it around a piece of fresh clove of peeled garlic and inserting it, but make sure that you remove it after thirty minutes and do not use more than once daily.
If you can find organic coconut oil it can also be used as an anti-fungal treatment and as a lubricant during sexual intercourse to help prevent yeast infections from recurring. You should also wear loose garments and try to wear only cotton panties. For women who are menstruating make sure that you change your tampon or pad often as these can also cause a yeast infection.
Some women even find that taking bubble baths cans cause a yeast infection so it might be advisable to take plain baths or showers. If you find that these natural home remedies do not help with the problem it might be advisable to make a visit to your doctor and get a prescription to take care of the yeast infection.
